MIAC Young Professionals Committee

Purpose

  • To foster connections between individuals 39 years old and younger in the music industry
  • To create a positive learning and mentoring environment for those wanting to enter the music industry with mentoring programs and job postings
  • To serve the MIAC board with a committee liaison's input from this age group

Structure

  • Any MIAC music and sound industry professional or music or business student looking to enter the industry, age 39 or younger, is welcome to join
  • Executive committee, consisting of one board chairperson, and 10 committee members.
  • This executive committee consists of 3 members from the manufacturer's sector, 3 from the retail sector, and 2 from the press/marketing sector, and 2 from the education sector

Events/Meetings

  • Meetings occur every 3 to 4 months, usually in the Toronto area.
  • Meetings consist of the executive committee and any other members that can attend, all are welcome
  • Various get-togethers through the year including industry trade shows including MIAC, Frankfurt, NAMM, professional development seminars and mentoring programs and seminars
  • Join with (NAYMM) at NAMM events in the U.S.
