2009 Supporting Manufacturers Program for MusiCan

The MIAC Board of Directors recently approved funding support for the MusiCan instrument grant program administered by CARAS (Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences).

Every year CARAS awards $10,000 musical instrument grants to deserving schools across Canada so their music programs can grow and in some cases continue to exist. Recipient schools get quotes from local retail dealers to purchase instruments from this grant.

Since its inception in 1997, the Band-Aid program has been highly successful and now, in partnership with MIAC, is hoping to involve more music manufacturing companies to provide support through a special rebate program.

To that end, MIAC is has established a "Supporting Manufacturers Program" that will be an important development for MusiCan's future growth.

All MIAC manufacturer members are invited to sign up for this program using the form below. Those companies that participate are asked to provide a 10% rebate to retailers that order product for schools receiving grants this October. This important rebate would then allow schools to acquire more instruments for the dollars they receive - a wonderful "bonus" in support of their music program.

When your company participates, you will be listed in the communication that will go out to Canadian retailers providing product to the schools receiving MusiCan grants.

This is a win-win situation for manufacturers and for the schools.
