PAL Showcase 2005

PAL Showcase As an integral part of MIAC 2005, this year's edition of the Pro Audio & Lighting (PAL) Showcase is shaping up to be the best in years. The Showcase will feature many new exhibitors, top flight seminars and an expanded Full Volume Outside Demonstration Area. For more information, visit the PAL website at www.palshowcase.com.

Exhibit Floor Plan and List
The official floor plan for the 34th annual MIAC Show (August 21-22, 2005, Toronto International Centre, Hall 5) is now posted on www.miac.net along with a complete list of all exhibitors and their contact information.

Everything is on track for a "SOLD OUT" Show this year with a final call for new exhibitors in July. Don't miss your chance to participate in Canada's largest music, sound and lighting products trade show which will feature 150 exhibitors and 3,000+ industry manufacturers, distributors and retailers in attendance. Don't miss it!

Toronto Music Expo

TMX As the city's first major public music show in many years, the Toronto Music Expo (November 19-20, Metro Toronto Convention Centre) promises to be a major musical attraction. MIAC is an event sponsor and encourages all Association members to check out the details at www.torontomusicexpo.com. Early forecasts are for 15,000-20,000 music loving participants to attend the Expo. Mark your calendar and don't miss it!

Social Events
MIAC 2005 will feature a fabulous weekend of social events for all Show participants.

Charity Golf Tournament (Saturday, August 20, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
A fun day of golf at the wonderful Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ontario (about 30 minutes northeast of the Toronto Airport Marriott). A fee of $199 CAN/US per person includes transportation, breakfast, lunch, green fees, cart and prizes. Net proceeds go to support the Coalition For Music Education In Canada (CMEC) for their music advocacy programs. Register on the MIAC website.

Chairman's Welcome Reception (Saturday, August 20, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.)
Free admission and includes free buffet and cash bar. Meet and mingle at the Toronto Aiport Marriott Ballroom with industry reps and have a great time!

All Industry Jam Session (Saturday, August 20, 8:30 p.m. - 11:30+ p.m.)
Immediately following the Chairman's Reception at the Marriott, the MIAC All Industry Jam will take place in the hotel ballroom. Danny Marks, well known Toronto musician and radio personality, will MC the event. A variety of musicians will entertain you and make it a fun night. Admission is free to all industry personnel.

Industry Gala Dinner (Sunday, August 21, 6:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.)
Each year the MIAC Industry Gala Dinner attracts 500+ industry representatives for terrific evening of food and entertainment. The Gala will be staged at the Grand Ballroom of the Toronto Airport Marriott and feature Canadian comedian Ron James, as well as a program of video highlights and awards. Ticket for this stellar event are available online at the MIAC website and cost $75 per person or $100 at the door. Corporate tables of 10 are available for the great price of $695 ... a steal!

CMT Late Night Party (Sunday, August 21, 10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)
Immediately following the Gala Dinner, Canadian Music Trade will host its "Late Night Party" at the Fox & Fiddle Pub (171 Carlingview Drive, just down the street from the Marriott). There will be live entertainment, late night snacks and a cash bar. It's a great venue to unwind and have fun after a hard day at the Show!

Marriott Hotel Room Reservation
The MIAC room rate at the Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel (901 Dixon Road) is the low rate of only $109 CDN. The room block at this rate is limited so reserve your rooms early and avoid disappointment.

Contact the Marriott at 416-674-9400 (toll-free 800-228-9290) and mention the MIAC rate.

Dealer Appreciation Program
All retail dealer attendees attending the MIAC Show from more than 500 km (315 miles) are eligible to receive one free hotel night at the Toronto Airport Marriott, our host hotel. The offer is limited to one representative per dealer establishment (or three per dealer chain.) Register for the program on the MIAC website - Trade Show section.

Montreal MIAC Express
A free bus from Montreal to Toronto for dealers and PAL representatives will be available on Saturday, August 20th and returning Monday, August 22nd. Sponsors for the bus include Roland Canada, D'Addario Canada, and SF Marketing, with JAM Industries providing the departure parking lot and cafeteria services for dealers.

Approximate timings are as follows: Bus departure at 4 p.m., Saturday, August 20th, at JAM Industries (21000 TransCanada Highway, Baie D'Urfe, Quebec) and arrival at the Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel by 10 p.m. Return departure will be at 4 p.m., Monday, August 22nd, from the Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel and arriving at JAM Industries by 10 p.m.

Show Registration
Admission to MIAC 2005 is free to all industry personnel. For easier processing, register on-line at www.miac.net and avoid on-site line-ups. All attendees registering before August 1st will be mailed their Show badges.
