MIAC 2009 Seminars:
Strengthening our Industries through The Retailer/Vendor Relationship.
The music products, AV systems integration, and event technologies industries face many of the same challenges as most others, particularly during these difficult and changing economic times. Add to that the fact that most people don't actually need the things we sell, and it becomes clear that we as an industry must do more to attract and stimulate the buying public. A collaborative, bi-directional relationship between retailer and wholesaler can help create a more impactful shopping experience for music and equipment buyers. Improved synergy can lead to better execution, resulting in better conversion and customer retention.
The Music Industries Association of Canada (MIAC) and The Canadian Music Educators’Association
(CMEA) are pleased to present a two-day symposium titled
"Finale 2008 in theMusic Classroom" at the MIAC 2009 Show
scheduled to take place August 23-24, 2009 · International Centre · Mississauga, Ontario.
Both sessions will be led by Jean McKen, a former music educator who now specializes in training teachers and
composers to use music software in hands-on workshops as well as in her private studio. Jean is the author of
Breezin’Thru™Theory, a 7-12 curriculum for teaching music fundamentals and composition for use with paper
or notation software.
The aim is to demonstrate the application of Finale -
the world’s most powerful music notation software -
in an educational setting.
