MIAC Learning Lunches

We are dedicated to building a stronger music products community and a major part of our holistic approach is to offer better education and training to members at every level. MIAC's Learning Lunch seminars frequently center on the issues that manufacturers, distributors, and retailers must face in their respective professions. Our speakers and instructors are hand selected for their industry expertise and the topics they cover range from management to marketing and everything in between.

The Learning Lunch schedule for MIAC 2010 has yet to be finalized. However, to gain an appreciation for the topics that may be covered, take a moment to read about last year's seminars.

Past Learning Lunch Seminars (2009)

Too many guitars and amps, too few accessories, the wrong mix of sheet music, and unrented band instruments sitting on the shelves… How does this happen? In this session, you will learn not only how to buy the right product, quantity, and mix at the right cost and terms, you’ll gain the knowledge to improve your inventory management skills, preserve cash and minimize costly mistakes. Alan Friedman, a CPA and music industry consultant with several music dealer clients and vast product knowledge, will present this valuable and enlightening session in a fun and lighthearted way and give you his secret “one-page solution” to managing your store’s entire inventory.
