 Music Monday Retail Dealer Program

Music Monday

MIAC recently announced that that more than 90 key retail music stores have joined the special program to support the successful Music Monday (May 4) and the Coalition for Music Education in Canada.

In this first ever national promotion sponsored by MIAC, 92 retail store fronts in 10 provinces across Canada began collecting donations for Music Monday and the Coalition during the month of May, as well as staging their own in-store promotions. Music Monday is an annual national celebration of the importance of music in our lives and in our schools, co-ordinated by the Coalition, and has just completed its fifth year.

MIAC Chairman/President, Chris Griffiths, commented: “We were very pleased by the support received for our first Music Monday promotion with retailers across the country. This shows how retailers are strongly behind music advocacy and the efforts of the Coalition from coast to coast.”

Retailer participation included well know chains such as Long & McQuade, Tom Lee Music, Archambault Music, Mother's Music, Steve's Music Store, and St. John's Music, as well as key regional retailers such as Rufus Guitar Shop, Encore Musical Instruments, Cosmo Music, Drummer's Choice, Just Drums, Legend Music, Yamaha Music Gallery, Morris Music, National Music, Tony's Music Box, and Honolulu Magie Musique.

Results of the retailers' efforts will be available in June after all donations have been submitted to the MIAC National Office for processing and final disbursement to the Coalition.
